Immediately following the ceremony, guests moved to the back lawn to enjoy pre-dinner cocktails and passed hors d’oeurvres of pickled shrimp, bruschetta, and tea sandwiches while we took portraits with the bridal party. Before the real festivities began, we all dined on boursin filet mignon with bacon bundled asparagus, lemon basil biscuits and fried green tomato stack with shrimp remoulade and baby greens, chicken piccata with pimento cheese potatoes au gratin and red white & blue salad, and shrimp & grits in quattro formaggi white wine sauce with caesar salad. The bar, affectionately named “Barber Brews & Booze”, was stocked with top shelf liquors, bottled beer, and choice wines. In homage to our upcoming honeymoon, our signature drink was the Costa Rican ‘Rita, a tropical take on the Italian Margarita.
